Ime Atakpa currently pursues an M.A. in professional writing at Kennesaw State University where he works as a teaching assistant.
He was born to Nigerian parents in metro Atlanta, where he has lived his whole life. Having written fiction from a young age, even completing his first full-length manuscript at 15, it came naturally to him to pursue jobs pertaining to writing. In the summer of 2011, after graduating high school, he began work as a freelance ghostwriter, copywriter, and editor; and he continued to work as such throughout his time at the University of Georgia where he graduated in 2015 with a BA in English with a creative writing concentration. It was during Ime’s last year at UGA that he penned his second full-length novel. In the two years that followed, he completed his third.
In his spare time, Ime enjoys listening to music and curating Spotify playlists and hopes to create many more stories in the years to come.
